Beruflicher Werdegang

Studium der Rechtswissenschaft 1955-1959 in Bonn, Köln, Berlin und Würzburg. Bayerische Staatsexamina (Zweite juristische Staatsprüfung in München). Dr. jur.
utr. in Würzburg.

  • Danach Studium der Soziologie (sowie Philosophie und Sozialpsychologie) von 1964 bis 1968 in München (Dr. phil.).
     
  • Erste Stellen an der Sozialforschungsstelle Dortmund der Universität Münster
    (Ltg. Helmut Schelsky) 1968/69 als wiss. Mitarbeiter sowie an der Universität Bielefeld (bei Niklas Luhmann) 1970/71 als Oberassistent. Parallel dazu 1969/70 als Gerichtsassessor in Frankfurt/M. und Hamburg im Feldforschungsprojekt (DFG) über richterliche Entscheidungen.
     
  • o. Prof. für Allgemeine Soziologie und Rechtssoziologie an der Universität Bremen seit Sept. 1971. Bis 1981 im FB Rechtswissenschaft, seit 1981 im Studiengang Soziologie, heute: Institut für Soziologie. Von 1987 bis 1990: Dekan des Fachbereichs 8; von 1993 bis 1998: Leiter des Studiengangs Soziologie. Pensioniert 2001.
